A long one...

Wow! I have been really bad about posting!! I am off all summer, yet I feel like I am busier than I have ever been!!




Well, since my last blog (if you can even call it that, because it wasn't much of anything) Logan has turned one!! I don't know how that is even possible...but I have accepted it and I am really enjoying this age. He is running around everywhere! He loves being outside and he still loves his tractors and farm animals. That is why we chose the farm theme for his very first birthday party. It was a huge success. All our family was there...including Uncle Jacob all the way from Iraq and Aunt Ashley all the way from NYC! I was exhausted after the whole thing was over but had a very good time! Logan loved it! He played his little heart out!! So cute!!

Since the big party...we have went to Schlitterbahn with the Bures Clan...yes all the babies! We had a 4 year old, 3.5 year old, 1 year old, and a 10 month old! Well, I guess we were minus one, Hallie didn't make this trip...we thought 4 months was a little too early!! We had a blast. Logan had so much fun! He played all day long in the kiddie area. He had a huge smile on his face!!

We also got our very first big boy hair cut! Aunt BB got out her scissors and went to work on Logan's hair. I swear I could have cried when she was done! He looked like such a big boy!! It was another bitter-sweet moment!!

We also got our first pool and we have been spending many afternoons in it! He loves that thing. He gets in and out...big smiles the whole time!

Well, Matt and I are heading for our first vacation without Logan. We are going to New Braunfels with our friends. I can't wait to kick back with the group, but oh how I am going to miss my little man!! He is staying at Grammy and Popo's (my parents') so I am sure he won't even notice we are gone!

Well, I guess that is enough for now!!! I hope to get better at posting!!

Logan's Check-up

Well, we went to the Doctor yesterday for a check-up and everything was great!! We didn't have to get any shots, which not only makes for a happy Logan, but a very happy Mommy!! Here were his stats:

• 28 3/4 inches long
• 21.5 pounds

He actually lost weight, which the doc said is normal b/c he is getting so active and drinking less milk! He told me that by age 1, he should only be drinking 1- 8oz bottle a day! We are drinking about 3 right now, so we have some work to do! I don't think he will miss his bottle. He doesn't seem too attached. As long as we can keep the night bottle, I think he will be fine! He also answered all our questions about his eczema. It is all over his body and we just can't get rid of it! He gave us a new prescription, so hopefully this will help!

The doc even said the dreaded words..."He is most certainly not a baby anymore!" So bittersweet!!

He still isn't officially walking (his max is about 8 steps)...but he knows how! I think he just chooses to crawl because its faster. Hopefully soon, he will be walking...so that we can get those hands off the floor!!!

Logan Michael

I wanted to give an update on all the super cute things Logan is doing.

He is now 9 months old. I know...like I always say, "Where does the time go?"

Everything he does is special, but since he just turned 9 months...here are 9 of my favorites!!

1. He loves to look at books and be read to!






2. He is starting to walk.
   
3. He has such a cute laugh!
4. He loves being outside! He could be outside for hours!!
   
5. He loves tractors and farm animals.



6. He loves to eat Gerber Puffs! He picks them up with his little fingers. It's so cute!
   
7. When I am sitting on the floor...he will crawl up to me and plop right in my lap. He loves for me to love on him!
8. When you walk in the room, he crawls (as fast as he can) to you and stops when he is just about a foot away from you! He likes to be able to see you!
   
9. He is so sweet at night. He drinks his bottle and then just curls up in your arms. Gosh he can just melt me!

These are just 9 of the things that make him special...I could go on for pages...really I could!!

Okay, I am trying to learn how to do all the cute things on here...for example, a cute layout! I have been trying for the last 23 minutes of my conference time (yeah, I only have 7 minutes left!), and I still can't figure it out!!
